Mistral Air, founded in 1981 by the actor Bud Spencer, is an Italian airline owned by the Italian Post Office and based in Rome. Its main hub is Rome Fiumicino airport, and it operates in several national and international destinations. “Bad service, we booked for a direct flight, without giving us any explanation they changed our flight! They brang forward of 6 hours the departure time! And the flight actually flew on a different route so we had to stop over in another city and we lost one entire day! Nobody refunded us. And they made us fly with a different airline!”

“The outward voyage took off with a 3 hours delay due to unavailability of the aircraft. So we had to wait for another flight (which was coming from Catania) by TravelFly. On the return fly the aircraft left 25 minutes in advance! The board crew was very kind. By reading reviews on the internet I thought the worst. Have I been kissed by fortune? ...”

“I took off with my wife from Bologna Airport to Pantelleria on 1st of june, we returned on 8th of june, the travel and the stay were organized by the travel agency. Before the departure I was quite worried (because I read the reviews over this airline), but I must say they have been both punctual and kind.”

“The take off was supposed to be at 15:30, we took off at 20:00, we landed in Split instead of Mostar. On the return trip was the same thing: expected departure time was 17:10 but we took off at 19:50. No informations, avoid this airline.”

“The day before leaving they changed the airline from Alitalia to Mistral. I read the reviews and I was shivering. At the end, full of prejudices, I took off. In short: aircrafts were ok, pilots did a perfect landing (I didn't even noticed that we touched the ground!) and the board crew was kind and helpful. Considering I was flying on a charted, couldn't have been better. We have to keep in mind that we are flying with a charter, not in Business Class.”

“Good morning. On my opinion it is true that many things depends on luck. I was worried by reading all those reviews, but I must say, it was not that bad, at all. On the outward voyage the airplane was on time, on the return trip had a 2 hours delay (it is normal for a charter). The aircraft was clean, the boars crew was kind and helpful, they served us a tasty snack, I had not any problem while retrieving the luggage. I had a bad experience with others airlines such as Alitalia, which I am not gonne use to fly anymore, not even if they would actually pay me.”

“I think it's right and proper to give a positive judgement over Mistral Air. Many comments made me think the worst before the take off, but I must say everything went better than expected. Maximum punctuality, had not any problem with the luggage, and the board crew was helpful. Many people uses to forget what does mean the word "charter"... for me it's been ok.”

“When they told me that there would have been a change of airline for my flight, I was shivering because I read all the reviews in the internet and I did not want to leave. The flight have been punctual and everything was ok, the only thing is that on the return trip we were supposed to leave on 21 (9 pm) and land on 00:00 and the only thing they gave us has been a packet of biscuits.”

“A typical lowcost company..with relative limitations..aeroplane pretty old, the airoport assistance is unsatisfying, the cabin crew is kind and helpful.The departure flight on 10/09/12 ran on time and except for the landing to Antalya a bit rough everything else was fine, even the return on 17/09/12 flight to be gone to Bodrum Verona (in advance towards the plan of three hours) everything was regular.”

“By reading all the comments I was desperate, or worse. But I had to think again: flight on time, at the return journey we landed 45 minutes ahead of schedule, maximum kindness. for the luggage I had no problem. I give you only one advice, make sure you weigh properly the luggage, in Lanzarote they made pay for the extra weight, specifically, only one of the two check in has made pay, it does not depend by Mistralair, but be careful anyway.”

“This has been the worst trip that I've even done. In terms of schedule time, they are pretty accurate, only one hour of delay on the return journey. The plane is bad and dirty, the in-flight service is the worst thing of this company, the plane is not comfortable and the food trolley gets hardly through the aisle. The flight has been full of turbulences, but the worst this has been the landing, we couldn't land in Marsa Alam because the wind was too strong and the commander kept to go round in circles, waiting for....”

“The outward journey had a delay of more than 14 hours because the aircraft was broken. While flying they did not give us any rug and during the return voyage they did not feed us with anything, just a 25 grammes snack despite the 4 hours travel. “I had to leave on 03:45 pm from Mostar to Naples on day 08/21/2012. Unjustified delay of 20 minutes. After the counter closing they informed us that due to the high temperature of Mostar's take-off strip, we had to refuel in Bari's airport. Once in Bari, we refuelled and we took of 35 minute later. We landed in Naples at 06:00 pm instead of landing at 05:00 pm as estimated. After being waiting 20 minutes for our luggage they communicated us that only 60 bags were embarked on the aircraft, not to consume too much fuel. Fill in a form and then wait IF and when my luggage will be bringed me back from Mostar's airport. Thank you MISTRAL - Poste Italiane group, never see you again....not even in your post offices...if I would invest on you I would lose everything.”

“A flying wreck!!! Mostly broken all the time and/or replaced with other aircrafts (probably their planes does not passes the controls imposed by the local authority). HUGE delays! 5 hours from Bologna to Karpatos (August the 4, 2012. And before the return journey from Samos, they deribelately left in the airport 50 bags, only because there was a slightly wind (called meltemi), which is absolutely normal (it happens eight times out of ten, in Greek isles); only after being waiting for 60 minutes they told us that many bags were left behind, and all this, to grant the security of the flight and of the passengers?!? I must say no one felt safe, not even for a second, because we could hear sinister squeeks and a thundering noise, and see broken panels...and the seats were too close to each other; and I am wondering, how much is safe an aircraft that cannot embark 50 bags because of a weak wind?!? Air fleet of the 80's, scruffy. The board crew should have had made us fill in the form (to receive to our home the luggage) during the flight, and not after an entire hour passed without doing anything in Bologna airport, then we standed 2 hours in a queue to the customer service department. Mistral Air rally needs to update the air fleet, as far as I'm concerned, I will never fly by this company again. I will drive to other cities such as rimini, verona, bergamo, milano...wherever there is a good flight company, like neos, or many others....I deliberately did not mention in this review the convenience in terms of price, in this case it does not matter: I would not fly again by mistral-air or poste italiane, not even if the plane ticket would cost one euro.”

“On the return trip to Rome from Fuerteventura in july 2011, there has been a breakdown of the engine, we had to stop over at Alghero's airport. We arrived at 24 instead of 16:00. I would like to know why "Poste Italiane" does not buy secondhand aircrafts (but serviced) instead of those discounted planes. About the pilot: excellent work.”

“Excellent take off, wonderful landings...praiseworthy board crew...and who's writing this review does not like to fly. The pilot avoided every storm there were over Greece. The capability and the competence of the pilot made the flight perfect. The only defect was the old aircraft. If they had newer aircraft, they would have been perfect.”

“Embark on 06/25/2013 from Sharm to Orio..there has been a mistake so we've been the last ones that have been embarked. Departure at 13:03 and not 13:20 as expected. Result: luggage has not been embarked!!! The luggage reached Bari's airport, which called us saying that they would have had send us back the luggage in Linate. No one actually called us to retrieve the baggage. The other baggage remained in Sharm...WHERE IS IT?”

“Departure after Feast of Assumption in 2009 (Sunday) and return one week later on sunday, from Catullo to Samos, direct flight. A quiet flight, even if the aircraft was crowded. I felt some turbulences but everything was ok. I don't know if it was cheaper than other airlines but judging from the prices, I believe so!Good trip. P.S. the airline is associated with Poste Italiane so I was not worried.”
