Austrian Airlines AG is the national airline of Austria. Austrian was founded in September 30, 1957, born from the merger of Air Austria and Austrian Airways. The headquarters of the company is located in Schwechat, in the district Vienna-Umgebung near the capital, Vienna. Austrian operates scheduled flights to over 100 domestic and international destinations (including subsidiaries). Its main base is Vienna International Airport (VIE), while the secondary base is located in the airport of Innsbruck (INN). In 2000, Austrian Airlines becomes member of Star Alliance, in 2001 acquired Rheintalflug, while in 2003 he joined Lauda Air. With approval from the European Commission, Lufthansa purchased Austrian Airlines in September 2009.

“There customer service reps keep rereading the policy over the phone. If I wanted to read the policy I would. Customer call to receive service!Yes, my bad I bought a non-refundable flight but, I could not control the fact that my tour got canceled due to political unrest. There was an option to change, which would cost around an extra $600 (for the same destination 6 months from now). But, get this I can only change to go to the same destination because they only fly to Vienna from Los Angeles.I begged and pleaded and even screamed at the end (which I apologize for). They refuse to escalate my request to someone who could help me. No, they just refused to escalate period. "You made the decision to purchase the ticket and now you have to follow the terms of the ticket." WORST AIRLINE CUSTOMER SERVICE ever. I'm actually scared of what the service will be like on the plane now.I have tried contacting them by email, phone, social media, everything... but they refuse to help. And get this, I had to have a back and forth conversation with them on their facebook page comments b/c they wouldn't pick up the phone or email me. No, I had to post and receive all their comments publicly because I had no other option.I have never done business with anyone so inconsiderate and lacking in my life. Suffice it to say I whenever I speak about travel with anyone I will be slipping in a nice "and make sure you don't book on Austrian."Thanks but no thanks.”
